It's a real dance, chance romance.

I am a big fan of Koki Tanaka's work, I almost forgot about him though until YouTube informed me that he "liked" this video. Which I'm glad it did as I revisited his website and found some great new work.

愛 日本

A lot of wow's and ahh's whilst looking at this blog Kirai, a blog written by a spaniard in Tokyo, showing all the cool and crazy things he finds there.

Umbrella Vending Machine

MacBook Air = Chopsticks

Super creepy lady robot.

Really interesting article about growing vegetables underground with LED lights too, I've always wanted to grow my own vegetables, will it be more efficient to grow indoors in the future?

This belongs to Sabine

I love this! The insides of fridges have always intrigued me, this is a very nice colour coded illustration of the inside of a communal fridge by Kristin Nohe.

Fling Gern

Düsseldorf Flingern is my hood. Unfortunately I don't spend much time in it because I'm a little bit lazy and find it all a bit too spread out, which is a shame as it has so many lovely places to go. Today I ventured through the borough in the rain and was sad to see a lot of places had closed although some were being replaced by pop up stores which are also nice to see, it is sad to see the end of others. The area is quite a creative rich area, with some beautiful old buildings and tree lined "Allees", the cafes and bars are also quite bohemian and aesthetically faddy in a way creating a unique type community, this can be seen with posters with great graphics promoting events and fellow businesses of the area. I especially love all the different typefaces and tiles!

Watch out for a lot more Flingern based posts.

Food Regret.

Had Matjes on bread for Abendbrot the other eve. Turns out Matjes aren't my cup of tea. I don't like food regrets.

Sweet Dreams

A very lovely animation from Operture to send me off to dream some.

BLESS from Overture on Vimeo.

Wauw, so nice! Watch their showreel too.

Pythagora Switch ピタゴラスイッチ

Mornings have become quite a long and harrowing procedure since winter popped by, and has got me dreaming of machines which can make this a much more simpler and pleasant process, which lead to watching a handful of Rube Goldberg machines (not Rune Glifberg, as I often misname them). Like Yuri Suzuki's Ontbijt Maschine and PeeWee Hermann's Breakfast Machine, I wanted something that would involve a meal. Having fallen for convenience food lately and loaded up on instant packs of ramen, I felt this would be a simple act of arranging a course from my room to a kettle over a bowl, but this has been done. So, the point being, I'd like to make one of these, and will do, don't know what it'll do but it will be practical as hell.

Marina Ekroos.

Kitsuné's online Journal recently did a short article on Marina Ekroos photos of food. She's laid out the food in a visually stimulating way, which also aids in following the steps of a recipe, a little similar to the Ikea post I wrote about.

Hashemi & Hirata

Sol Hashemi and Jason Hirata.

They collaborated hiding snacks around many various places for anyone to discover, and also on an exhibition which involved an after hour work, where the two remained in a fog filled gallery collaborating on new works and sleeping, for passer-bys to watch through the window.

Hirata and Hashemi are both recent BFA graduates from the University of Washington photography program. They both wear glasses, played trading card games as children, and have last names starting with the letter "H".
